What is a UPC barcode?
The UPC barcode is used for retail sales in the USA & Canada. This format will uniquely identify your item inside a store’s POS system and supply chain.
What are the requirements for a UPC label?
The label that you place on each unit must include the following information:
- Barcode, with appropriate quiet zone areas (white space around the barcode)
- Human readable UPC number beneath the UPC graphic (redundancy)
Industries that require this label:
All retail channels globally, both online & in-store, eg: Amazon, Google, Alibaba, Shopify, etc.
Countries, excluding the USA and Canada, may use the EAN format of the UPC. See: EAN / GTIN-13 Labels
